Funnel slide (Tornado)
Your raft drops out of a tunnel into a giant funnel lying on its side, and swings back and forth like a pendulum before sliding out.A raft drops from a tunnel at about 45° into a giant funnel lying on its side and swings wall to wall before exiting the back. ProSlide pitched it in 2002; the first three (Zinga at Holiday World, High Anxiety at Mountain Creek, Tornado at Hurricane Harbor New England) opened in 2003. Models are named for funnel diameter in feet: Tornado 60, 45, 24, 18, 12, plus TornadoWAVE. Nearly 100 built. Competitors: WhiteWater Abyss, Polin Magicone and Sphere.

ProSlide invented it and called it the Tornado. The first three opened in 2003. Funnels come in different sizes named by how wide they are in feet: Tornado 60 is the biggest at over 18 metres across. Almost 100 have been built. Other companies make funnels too, with names like Abyss and Magicone.
Examples: Dawwama, Yas Waterworld (20 m hydromagnetic six-person funnel); Vuvuzela, Sunway Lagoon
From the outside a funnel looks like a giant trumpet or a huge ice-cream cone lying down.
