Looping slide (AquaLoop)

The only slide that goes upside down! You drop through a trapdoor, then whizz around a giant loop.A trapdoor launch into a ~17 m drop and then an inclined loop, tilted about 45° so gravity helps the rider through. Riders reach 60 km/h in about two seconds and pull ~2.5 G. Co-developed by Aquarena (Austria) and WhiteWater West; the first opened at Terme 3000, Slovenia, in May 2008. Roughly 60 exist.

📖Tell me more

The loop is tilted so gravity helps push you around it. You reach 60 km/h in two seconds and feel two-and-a-half times heavier than usual. The first AquaLoop opened in Slovenia in 2008, and about 60 exist now. The first in America was Scorpion's Tail at Noah's Ark in Wisconsin. The tallest one, at Aquarabia in Saudi Arabia, is about 27 metres.

Did you know?
Riders must weigh between 45 and 130 kg. Too light and you might not make it round the loop, so grown-ups get to ride this one first!
